PBS - Opening on 18th Jan 2010

Finally the date is confirmed, according to a reliable source.

From what i understand so far, they may (99%) waive the Entry Permit as required by the Forestry Dept last year.

Also the PBS will be opened as park for public access hence entrance fees is not likely. One Ranger i spoke to told me that there will be a full time Ranger stationed at the gantry after the official opening, which is good for all i guess.

Lets hope that PBS will be a better place for all of us in 2010!!

When Yuan Han and I were there yesterday, the workers were putting the finishing touches to the ranger(?) office / visitor centre and bird watching tower. They have also built a proper car park next to the visitor centre, about 400m - 500m in from the main road.

Hi to all,
I spoke to Mr. Seetho of MNS a moment ago and was told that there will be a show-around of photographic equipment for the VIPs and all on the 18th Jan. They only want to display a variety of equipment of different makes, at this moment they are keen on a
800mm Canon lens (oh Harry! ) and Leica Scope. So if any of you is keen please pm me and i forward your detail to Mr. Seetho.

I will try to get list of "wanted" equipment and post it here if possible.

I just got the news this morning, the opening of the PBS is tentatively postponed to 6th March, Saturday.

PBS's opening ceremony is finally (ahem..) confirmed on the 13th March 2010.

AFAIK , MNS will use the base of the Observation Tower for equipment display. So those who are interested please let me know or email me at paulwu777@gmail.com or you may contact MNSJ directly.

Just received the email from MNSJ confirming that the Sultan Of Johor will grace the opening on the 9th Aug 2010!
